Looking for ways how to improve K12 education is vital for the success of the nation.
K12 has played a massive part in the evolution of on-line and home education, and the results plainly speak for themselves, with 95% of parents reporting that by enrolling in the K12 course their children have benefited academically. Although students regularly surpass the achievements of other schools and online programs, at K12, the management realizes that excellence is a daily pursuit, and in order to maintain and improve the facilities, curriculum and results of the K12 program, continual improvements need to be made.
No Child Left Behind
Worried by the falling standards in education, early in 2002 Congress passed the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) which was an attempt to improve the education of each individual child by means of setting high standards and achievable goals. It was found that a large proportion of the adult population were leaving school after High School, but for people to be able to afford to do the ‘normal’ things in life, you know, buy a house, raise a family etc, it was thought that a college education was really needed, to be successful in the cut and thrust of the modern, fast moving employment market.
Since the NCLB was passed, there has been improvement in many areas of education, but there is always room for more. I believe that children are the future, (okay, I know somebody else said that first) and the best way to ensure the success of a nation is to educate the children to a high standard, both academically and socially.
More Education Improvement Strategies
Education is only as good as the resources and teaching staff who implement it, and the role of the teacher is much more than that of ‘supplier of information’ or ‘marker of assignments.’ A really good teacher can stimulate pupils into wanting to learn, and facilitate learning in such a way that the students learn without realizing it, while having fun and finding out about things in an interesting and exciting way. In order to be able to do this, it is important that the teaching staff are in a continuous state of development themselves, always learning new and innovative methods to facilitate learning and assessing their own weaknesses.
Educate the teachers, to educate the children, to educate the world. Simple.
